New England Women
Who are we?
We are a group of ladies who are members of the National Society New England Women. We live in and around Chicago, IL. We meet 4 times each year for lunch, fellowship and interesting programs. Our colony was organized in 1907 as Colony #15 of the National Society. We are the oldest colony still in existence.
What do we do?
We support the projects of the National Society New England Women. Our main charities are Kurn Hattin School in Westminster, Vermont and Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, MA. We also help support the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmens Club in New York City, as well as local Veteran's Hospitals and U.S.O. Clubs.
Who is eligible to join?
Any woman who is eighteen years of age or older, who can prove descent from one or more ancestors born in New England prior to the signing of the Constitution of the United States in 1789 is eligible. Membership is by invitation but inquiries may be directed to the Colony. In addition, there are special membership categories for boys and girls under six years of age (Cradle Roll) and girls aged six through 18 (Juniors).
When do we meet?
We meet four times per year for lunch and interesting programs in the Chicago suburbs.
Our 2023-26 schedule has not been determined yet.
